    This particular buffalo (bison) tooth reportedly came from Bison Antiquus. This ancient bison was the most common large herbivore of the North American continent for over 10,000 years, and is a direct ancestor of the living American bison we know and see alive today in the USA. 

     

    This tooth's patina is largely the original color naturally developed in that animal's lifetime.
